SCHOLARSHIP: GM Foundation  will award minimum of 
X ($Amount) Scholarships annually to winning (senior HS student/or college JR-SN) nominee.

AWARD WINNERS: will be selected based on their interest in sports and the sports industry, their plans to pursue a career in: sports journalism, sports information, athletic administration, marketing or management, and their positive impact on others around them.

CANDIDATES: must be nominated by an adult who has known the student for more than 2 years. It could be a teacher, coach, athletic director, or guidance counselor. They must provide a letter of recommendation describing the candidate’s: 

  1. Contributions to their schools journalism department, athletic department or any team. 

  2. Accomplishments (publications or informational stories) with sports involvement.

  3. Experiences or traits that make the candidate an exceptional scholarship nominee.

  4. Positive impact on the lives of others and a commitment of following this career path. 


ELIGIBILITY:  Student applicants must meet the following criteria: 

  1. College-bound senior currently attending high school 

  2. Must be attending a college or university in the fall of 2022; Junior or Senior Year.

  3. Demonstrated the value of being a kind, positive influence on others. 

  4. Interest and involvement in sports journalism, sports information, marketing or management.

APPLICATIONS:  must be postmarked no later than September 15, 2022 and must include the following:

  1. Completed application.

  2. One (1) letter of recommendation

  3. Short essay or portfolio explaining experiences and interest in sports and what 

    makes the applicant an exceptional scholarship candidate. 

  4. Admission/Enrollment to college plans for 2022-23 year
